Book Launch Party: The Year of the Return

September 17 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Nathaniel Popkin’s third Philly novel (and sixth Philly book), The Year of the Return, explores the racial dynamics of 1976, in the lead-up to the Bicentennial. The Year of the Return follows the path of two families, the Jewish Silks and African American Johnsons, as they are first united by marriage and then by grief, turmoil, and the difficult task of trying to live in an America failing to live up to its ideals.

Co-founder of the Hidden City Daily, Popkin will launch the book at the Brandywine Workshop, a legacy 1970s art organization inside a 19th century firehouse, with a reading and signing, food and drink, 1970s Philly films, and even Bicentennial swag for guests.

No need to register for this free event–just invite your friends and stop on by!
