  • On the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, Randy LoBasso relays some relevant key findings from the U.S. Census Bureau’s annual American Community Survey publication on Friday. Residents of Portland, Oregon and Minneapolis are more likely than Philadelphians to be regular bike commuters; but we nonetheless retain the distinction as the most-biked big city in America; yet Chicago is catching up quick.
  • The Passyunk Post takes note of the two pop-up parks that popped-up in South Philly on Friday, the city’s eighth annual Park(ing) Day (when a parking spot becomes a public park for the day). “The United Merchants of the S. 9th Street Business Association had [a papal themed] one near 9th and Carpenter,” and the boutique Moon + Arrow at 754 S. 4th Street kindly set up some greenery and seating.
