  • The Philadelphia City Planning Commission approved yesterday PREIT’s proposal to erect nine digital signs, from 9th to 11th Streets, along the Fashion Outlets of Philadelphia, the renovation of The Gallery, reports Plan Philly. The measure was opposed by Commissioner Joe Syrnick, who felt as if the necessitated $10 million in public improvements had not been met in this case. (“Gussying up your own storefront, while it’s a good thing to do, doesn’t seem like a public improvement,” he said.) Chair Alan Greenberger demurred, arguing that The Gallery rebuild itself was public improvement enough to meet the Market East advertising district’s requirements.
