  • The Philadelphia Business Journal reminds us that Michael Nutter, with a mere four months remaining in his mayoralty, is no lame duck. Ever the international booster, Nutter, a Baptist educated in Archdiocesan schools, will join a small synod of international Catholic mayors in the first International Mayors Forum at La Salle University on Wednesday, September 23, during which participants will brainstorm on how municipal good government can engender strong families within their communities. Thus far three have signed on: Mitch Landrieu of New Orleans; Ignazio Marino, who preceded his term as Roman mayor with a lectureship of surgery at Thomas Jefferson University; and José Antonio Gali Fayad of Puebla, Mexico. Others will reportedly confirm their participation in the invite-only forum in coming weeks.
