  • Developers for the new East Market project have announced its first retail tenant, MOM’s Organic Market, a D.C.-area company whose founder and chairman Scott Nash says “fits into the Philadelphia organics market between neighborhood independents and supermarket-size Whole Foods.” Inquirer business reporter Joseph DiStefano explains that netting this lease is “designed to help draw young and retired professionals to the four-acre block of planned new and renovated stores, apartments, offices, bars and restaurants.” MOM’s is expected to open in January of next year.
