  • Abbott’s Alderney Dairy–built in 1921 and vacant for the past 30 years–will reopen its doors for commercial use next month, reports the Passyunk Post. The 3,000-square-foot ground floor space is slated to become the new home of the Philly Pack Canine Enrichment Center, currently located at 24th & Fitzwater Streets. Just last year, realtor Anna Maria Vona was attempting to redevelop the  at 1715 McKean Street as an “edgy, hipster-style” restaurant but after some neighbor opposition, she was forced to scale back plans and adhere to the building’s current I2 zoning distinction.
