  • Chestnut Hill Local talks to Woodmere Art Museum’s William Valerio about preliminary plans for that institution’s renovations of its current home, the Charles Knox Smith house on Germantown Avenue. New York-based architect Matthew Baird, who spent much of his teen years admiring the architecture of Chestnut Hill, says any eventual design will focus on forging better connections with both the Wissahickon woods and Germantown Avenue. Although there is some concern from neighbors as to the project’s scale, Baird stress that new construction would be limited. The first community workshop towards the design will take place at the museum at 6PM, Thursday, November 21.
