- NEast Philly showcases Tacony’s Lardner’s Point Park, which opened last week. “The 4.5 acre park has a river overlook, fishing pier and picnic area. The Fairmount Park system’s 64th park, Lardner’s Point will be ‘a gateway and trailhead for the North Delaware,’ according to the DRCC.”
- According to Philly Shark, West Philadelphia’s 2.0 University Place is set for construction, as a chief tenant has been procured. The Citizenship and Immigration Services feels that the $30 million space at 41st & Market would better serve their clientele than their current location at 16th & Callowhill. The 53,000 square feet will constitute the CIS Pennsylvania headquarters.
- NewsWorks and Plan Philly report that the Planning Commission has given the official go-ahead for decade-long plan to redevelop Nicetown. “These and other investments are providing a tremendous opportunity to create a renaissance in Nicetown, and that’s already taking place,” said Sherick Project Management’s Leslie Anastasio.
- Naked Philly looks back at the history of the Art Museum’s locale at 26th & the Parkway, from its time being the original “fair mount,” six-pool reservoir, to the current “majestic Greek-revivalist building” that we have come to know and love.
