  • Writing for Axis Philly, Charles M. Madigan heads to the floor of The Inquirer, where anonymous reporters share with him their thoughts on the state of Philly journalism. For all the talk of decline and pernicious internal politics, “in some ways,” Madigan says, “it’s the same as it always was.” Amid the cynicism and acrimony, that idealized Pulitzer-vision of yore remains latent. “On any day, it is still the best local newspaper in Philadelphia and on some days, the best in the state and maybe on a very few days, the best in the nation.”
