  • The Friends of Cianfrani Park invite you to their next monthly meeting (tomorrow night at 7, at the Palumbo Recreation Center at 10th & Fitzwater), where they we will reveal plans for the incorporation of a statue of the City Seal of Philadelphia in the park. Prior to the spring of 2012, the two feminine personifications of “Peace” and “Plenty” were “crowned the entrance to the former Fante Leone Pool at Darien and Montrose Streets.” “In addition to adding this beautiful sculpture to the park, the project presents other opportunities for upgrades including: new lighting and electrical improvements; removal of 3 dying trees and planting new ones in their place; new pavement and walkways; and new benches.” (For more on the City Seal, check out Sam Robinson’s November story HERE.)
