Stephen Currall recently received his BA in history from Arcadia University. Before beginning doctoral studies, he is pursuing his interest in local history, specifically just how Philadelphians engage their vibrant past. Please tell me that NONE of the architecturally beautiful structures will be allowed to be DESTOYED and TORN down , just because therye not schools anymore doesn’t mean they don’t affect the community. I’m hoping to see these gems turned into charter schools and condos , as long as they are reused I’m happy. And with Clarke messing up the land bank legislation I just don’t have much faith in his words. I hope I’m wrong !

  2. Loved the concept for Colombus Square Park , I just hope the dog park has hills like the one behind super fresh at 11th and rodman. Those dogs love fighting over the high ground. The park at schuylkill banks is flat and you just don’t see the dogs having as much fun ( it’s the ALPHA DOG thing ) . Perhaps the local around girard could try the same appoach with seger park ? It’s at 5th & master. Same potential for being so much more than it is now being used for. Great article !
