- The Art Deco 1616 Walnut Street Building has been purchased by Federal Capital Partners (FCP), based in Chevy Chase, Maryland. A real estate investment company, FCP has insinuated that it may convert the office building to residential “over time,” in order to take advantage of the Rittenhouse market.
- Flying Kite reports that four townhouses, Olive Townhomes, are weeks away from construction on the 800-block of Carpenter Street—close to the Italian Market. Expected to receive LEED Gold status, the townhomes will be 2,540/2,690 square feet, and surrounded by “a lush outdoor courtyard.”
- The Inquirer endorses the notion of a central land bank, recently proposed by Councilwoman María Quiñones-Sánchez, which would save city taxpayers some $20 million each year.
- GQ lists “The Ten Best New Restaurants in America,” placing Chestnut Hill’s Mico (8609 Germantown Avenue) at #8. Headed by Chip Roman, previously of Le Bec-Fin, Mico is praised for its complex, French-inspired locally produced menu.
