Deflate the Rat, For Now

  • The Kimmel Center strike is on hiatus, following an eighteen-hour long standoff on Saturday. The next week is regarded as a “cooling off” period, as well as a chance for the Opera Company to ensure a few more performances of their breadwinner Carmen.
  • The Business Journal reports that funding has been secured for a $20 million student housing project near Temple, at 10th & Diamond. The project, and others, has been met with opposition by local neighborhood groups (and Councilman Darrell Clarke), tired of student rowdiness. The Temple News reflects on these issues, raised at a meeting last week.
